Dehydration due to dry air and lack of movement promote the development
of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Moreover, many passengers
feel uneasy in airplanes whereas some even experience severe anxiety
attacks. Within the EU project SEAT, we developed pervasive sensing
technologies and integrated them into an airplane seat. They allow to
sense physiological parameters related to the passenger’s comfort and
affective state. This video shows how pervasive computing can provide
support to airplane passengers, right when they need it.}
